Firstly, i realized there are large amount of ADS appearing on the bus-stops. I did a rough calculation about the percentage of each kind of ads. The percentage of Ads appears on the bus-stops turns up to approximately 45%. That is really high.
The number of buses on Queen St is corresponding to the bus-stops. Thus i would not be amazed how many Ads on the buses. But I noticed that there were many buses travelling on the street without any Ads on them, maybe because they are new? It could be the reason.
Secondly were the flags. I think I have never truly got attention to those flags before. After this mapping experiment I noticed there are so many. Approximately 40% on this city main street. The funny thing is: some of them already expired, like the “The Phantom of the Opera”. They are still there, flying in the wind.
I also surprised by the small amount of billboards appear on the street. I thought there should be more. But think clearly, it is such a dense area. The view of people on the street is very much restricted, there are too many high rise building built very close to each other, it is unreasonable to put many billboards on the building if they are can’t be seeing from the street.
last was the people hand-out flies:
